Day 7 In Japan

Day 7 In Japan

Day 7 was all about family. We enjoyed taking our niece and nephew to the amusement park and then enjoying a meal together at a local izakaya. It was a nice break from all the walking and traveling we had done during the previous days.

Its that time of year! A family (not mine) admiring a natrual Christmas tree out front of a very non-traditional Japanese looking house.

We began the day traveling to a nearby amusement park situated atop a department store. I find that Japan finds ways to make good use of space.

The amusement park fit many rides in a small location, A ferris wheel, a small monorail that goes along the outside, as well as many smaller rides for the kids. We enjoyed taking turns riding and spending time together with our niece and nephew.

Riding in a ferris wheel on the side of a department building was a first for me. The view perhaps not the best, but the company and experience was top notch.

Inside the kids played arcade and crane style games to win candy and prizes were the majority, but I found this one out of place. Teaching them young?

We made our way later that evening to a local izakaya that we had visited last year.

We spent the next few hours eating and enjoying stories and catching up on events of the past year.

And as always, when in rome, or in this case Japan, drinking sake with friends and family.
