Day 2 In Japan
shopping, food, and more shopping
We started the day visiting Crea Mall in Kawagoe. Crea Mall is an open shopping venue which stretches several blocks. One can find all sorts of stores here.
Christmas is coming and you better get your KFC reservation in. In parts of Japan, it is common to eat a KFC meal on Christmas Day. It is so popular that KFC promotes special deals which can be reserved over a month in advanced.
Many of the shops in Crea Mall.
The Boss. Tommy Lee Jones puts his face on a well known beverage in Japan. Maybe not as popular as a few years ago, but he can still be found on many vending machines around Japan.
This was once a Sake Brewery but now has been converted into shops and resturuants.
Did I mention Christmas is coming? Santa macaron? Christmas from the shopping perspective is celebrated in Japan.
Another vibrant sunset at the end of our second day. May they all be as pretty.
I enjoy taking pictures of the trains at night in Japan. It is fascinating to see them wiz by one after another.
It was time for dinner and we decided to go to a neighborhood izakaya.
We sampled a wide range of dishes. Some very Japanese and some very American.
At the closure of the final day we headed back home to get rested for the adventure that awaited us the next day.
Cheers!
